We are excited to announce our new Online Bill Pay upgrade. Not only will you see a whole new look, you will notice a more intuitive interface that will allow you to navigate quickly and seamlessly through the site while performing tasks more easily. What do I need to know about using Bill Pay?

You need to be aware that there can be some risk involved. When you are scheduling a bill payment, the system does not look at the available balance in your account to “pre-authorize” your payment. You are allowed to schedule any payment you want, for any dollar amount to deliver on the date of your choice. If the funds are not available, you could overdraft your account. Also, if your payment is sent via laser draft, we cannot predict when a payee will present their check for payment. It could be 3 days, 3 weeks or 3 months. You are responsible for ensuring there will be enough funds available in your account to honor each check you have requested.

If funds are not available, Harbor could honor the draft or return it for non-payment (NSF), which can generate non-sufficient funds and/or Member Privilege fees. If the item is returned for non-payment, it is your responsibility to follow up directly with the payee.

How long does it take for Bill Pay payments to be processed?

Your payment will be sent on the delivery by date you select. We recommend that you schedule your payments at least 3-5 business days before the due date to ensure delivery by your preferred delivery by date to avoid a rush charge.

When will the funds debit from my checking account?

The when is determined on what type of payment is being sent. Our Bill Payment vendor diligently works to automate as many payees as they can. You will find most utilities and larger companies have partnered to streamline the payment process. The bill payment processing system automatically processes payments in one of three ways:

1)      Electronic Payment – If the payee has signed up to receive payments electronically, funds are deducted from your checking account on the due date requested in your payment instructions. We will send your payment on your behalf one business day prior to the due date, so the payee may post it to your account by the payment date you requested.

2)      Corporate Check – With this payment method, funds are deducted from your checking account on the due date requested in your payment instructions. This is a check sent US mail and drawn on our (Fiserv) processing center’s Corp Check account three business days prior to the due date. The Payee may post the payment earlier than the due date if the check arrives early, the same day as the due date, or very shortly thereafter. Funds will never be deducted from the member’s account earlier than the due date they requested in their payment instructions.

3)      Laser Draft – With this payment method, a check drawn directly from the member’s payment account and mailed to the Payee. When this payment method is used, funds are deducted from the member’s checking account when the Payee presents the check for payment. This payment method functions as if the check is written by the member themselves. The draft is mailed 1 to 3 days before the due date. 

How will I know what type of payment is being sent?

The type of payment is determined by our Bill Pay system and is based on a number of factors. While most utilities and larger companies have partnered to receive electronic checks, there will still be a number of payees that will receive a check. You will see the type of payment available when scheduling your payment as well as on your confirmation screen.  

Can I change or stop a payment I have scheduled?

Select the payment you want to stop and view the “Payment Details.” There is a bar at the top that shows the status of that particular payment.  This would come into play should you want to change, or cancel a payment. Once the status is in processing, you cannot cancel or stop the payment.

If your payment was sent by Laser Draft, you can however, order a stop payment. Simply contact a Harbor Representative by calling 310.816.0440, option 1 for details.

What does Bill Pay cost?

Harbor Bill Pay is FREE. No strings attached…No fine print…We do not charge you to pay your bills with Harbor Bill Pay.

What is required to use Bill Pay?

You must have a checking account at Harbor, and internet browser that meets our minimum requirements.

How do I enroll?

It’s easy - there are no forms or paperwork to complete. Once you are logged on to eBranch, you click on the Bill Pay link on the top of your screen. The first time you click on the link, an enrollment screen will be displayed. Just agree to the terms and conditions, and you can begin adding payees and making payments immediately.

How do I schedule payments?

Once you have set up payees, click on the Bill Pay tab to view your list of payees. You can enter your payments here. To make a one-time payment, click on the “Pay a Bill” link to the right of the menu.

Can I add a memo on payments processed by check?

Yes, you can add a memo on Bill Pay payments. Simply click on the +Add Memo under the payment amount.

Harbor ePay—Free Online Bill Payment

Pay your bills free whenever you choose—on payday, near the due date, or even when you’re out of town. Simply choose the date you want your payment to be sent. Set up recurring payments and your regular payments can be paid automatically. You can even schedule bills to pay in advance—which is a great convenience when you travel. Harbor eStatements—FREE Online Statements

An eStatement is an electronic copy of your personal account statement you view online in a safe and secure environment. We use the latest encryption technology to ensure the safety of your personal information. So, you can rest assured that you are protected. 

Harbor eStatements are easy and convenient. First you’ll receive an email notification that your eStatement is available to view. Then, simply sign on to Harbor@ccess using your password and retrieve and view your statement.

Enrolling for eStatements is as easy as 1-2-3!

3. Click on View My eDocuments!

Harbor eTransfers—Online Account to Account Transfers

Want a more convenient and secure way to transfer money into your accounts without driving to a branch or sending paperwork through the mail? With eTransfers you can electronically withdraw funds from accounts at other Financial Institutions, and transfer them online to your Harbor account for FREE.

Easily Transfer Your Money

  • Log on to your Harbor@ccess account
  • Select the Transfers option and set up your accounts from other financial institutions
  • Once we receive your account information, Harbor will send two small deposits and one withdrawl to your other account. This is a fraud prevention process and verifies your account.
  • After you verify the amount of each deposit, these accounts will then be available for transfers.

For your protection, Harbor will verify your accounts. Once established, you can transfer money to and from your Harbor accounts anywhere, anytime!
